Les Schwab Beef Promotion

Beef Checkoff The California Cattlewomen , as a statewide Beef Promotion Project will be teaming up with Les Schwab Tire Centers in the month of February. I encourage all units able to participate in this Beef Promotion Project.
In 2009 we had a great response with this Project ! Lets start off in 2010 with 100 percent Participation. We have units in the Southern half of the State that don't have Les Schwab Stores. I would still encourage your unit to participate in some Beef Promotion Project. This Year our Spring Meeting will be held at Harris Ranch in Coalinga, what a Great Place to set the Stage for all our efforts! -Pamela Payen 1st Vice President CCW

Walt Rodman Beef Promotion Awards is sponsored by California Beef Council. Bill Dale, Executive Director and Kirby Swickard presented the awards at the CCW Convention in November 2011.
The award contest recognizes county CattleWomen units that do an excellent job of promoting beef!
Alameda and Kern Counties tied for first place in the Walt Rodman Beef Promotion contest sponsored by California Beef Council.  Each county received $300.00.

Alameda County Project:
Coffee mugs for restaurant use and to purchase.  Each coffee mug was printed with the brands of Alameda CCW members and the organization's web address.  The first mugs were installed at Cattlemen's restaurant in Livermore, replacing all existing mugs.  Extras were also kept on hand to be sold to customers interested.  Along with these mugs, a gift basket, informational material and a workbook for kids was also provided to the restaurant.  Soon after, mugs and other accompanying materials were also provided to the Riata restaurant in Livermore.  These promotional items received very positive feedback and kept diners informed of this local organization and its place in the beef industry. - info by Dana Rivinius

Kern County Project:
CCW "Go Digital" with use of new media.  In an effort to reach out to members and consumers a website, email data base, and a system to monitor local news publications was developed and implemented.  The email database sends out meeting notices, meeting rsvp's, meeting minutes, new beef promotion item announcements and many other informative e-mails.  The website is colorful and rich with information on the beef industry, beef nutrition, recipes, beef education resources and events planned.  The monitoring of local online news publications allows CCW members to stay up-to-date with what is being said about our industry and gives them the ability to respond with reinforcing messages of the beef industry.  This effective use of new media allows the beef message to be shared at the click of a mouse. - info by Rebecca Been

Kevin and June Kester's Family can now be seen by anyone driving over the Cuesta Grade in San Luis Obispo County. What a terrific example for all of us to tell our story and be proud of what we do. What a great billboard! - So encouraging to see something so positive promoting California Ranching.
