California Cattlewomen – Goals and Reality
Our major mission, or goal, is Beef Promotion and Education.  We promote beef by educating the consumer at all ages and levels.  The reality is that our organization of 1850 women must work together to be most effective in fulfilling our mission at county, state, and national levels.

In this term, we are going to focus on more beef promotion.  One easy project in which we can participate without having to get the whole program up and running is the Les Schwab February Beef Promotion.   We also want to partner with the California Beef Council on other projects where they need feet on the ground (multiply 1850 by 2, and you have lots of feet!).

Another essential goal is increasing membership in CCW and ANCW.  We need to reach out and encourage women who support our industry to join us.  The reality of increasing membership is that this is most successful on a one to one basis.  With only 43 more California members at the ANCW level, we will have another delegate…this is very important!

Beef education programs will continue through Ag in the Classroom, and the Beef Ambassador Program.  A continuous, consistent program from each county unit, which keeps growing, encourages the understanding and respect that our industry needs.

One new project for this term will be a history of California ranches, from heritage to modern.  We hope that this will represent every county unit in the state, and will be something that we can publish in the future.  No one is prouder of their heritage than Cattlewomen and Cattlemen.

Remember, ladies.  We’ve got the beat (both the job and the rhythm) and we need to keep dancing!
