 WHAT IS IT?
TAX-EXEMPT?

They work in the corral with you. They do the ranch books. They go off to town to jobs with paychecks. They are in church on Sunday morning. Fairs, schools, grocery store demos, fundraisers, farm-city days, they are there, these California CattleWomen. These events take money, management, and womanpower.

Pat Brazil of Siskiyou County presented a thought one day, " Wouldn't it be great if there was a source of funds that the women could draw from? That might eliminate some of the time and hard work involved in fundraising." She continued to push for a 501(c) 3.

A CALIFORNIA CATTLEWOMEN HERITAGE FOUNDATION has been approved for tax exempt status and we are now involved in grant writing.
It will take some time for the fund to grow, to see the results of musings come alive.

Our purpose is to receive grants and donations for the advancement of leadership education. Creating a greater public awareness and understanding of agricultural production and laws through education, exploration and science.

Donations will be fully tax deductible and receipts will be issued from the Foundation. In turn, units will apply to the Foundation stating their project, amount requested, method of execution, goals, number of contacts expected. The board will evaluate these requests and allocate funds according to the merits of the proposal.

In addition, individual CattleWomen units who receive funds from a source requesting the 501(c) 3 status may have the donation made to "A CALIFORNIA CATTLEWOMEN HERITAGE FOUNDATION" and it will be returned in full to that unit to be used for the donated purpose.

If YOU wish to make a donation, do it today. We are waiting to hear from YOU, yes, it is You that we are hoping to hear from. Send it to: A California CattleWomen Heritage Foundation at P.O. Box 1216, Bella Vista, CA 96008.

2008 officers are; June Kester- President, Colleen Hayes, Inez Frye, Nadette Raymond, Melanie Fowle and Michelle Murphy.
